FRANKIE

I was born in Auckland, New Zealand in 1991 and raised by South African parents, growing up surrounded by creativity, culture, and art. Creativity has been a constant throughout my life — long before I had the language to call myself an artist.

I studied Art and Design at AUT University, specialising in sculpture, where I developed a strong foundation in form, materiality, and spatial thinking. This led me into further studies in fashion design, where I learned to balance concept with craftsmanship and storytelling through making.

In 2012, I moved to Sydney and began my career in fashion design. For years, creativity lived within structured briefs, deadlines, and commercial outcomes. During the stillness of the COVID period, I returned to art purely for myself — sharing pieces organically, without expectation or judgement. What began as a personal outlet quickly snowballed into commissioned works and a renewed sense of artistic direction.

In 2021, I launched my website, offering limited edition prints alongside original artworks. Since then, my practice has continued to evolve, becoming more intentional, cohesive, and emotionally driven.

Today, I am working on my second cohesive body of work. My original paintings and limited edition prints now live in the homes of collectors and art lovers around the world — each piece carrying its own quiet narrative, shaped by movement, memory, and lived experience.
